Postal services in Goa enter 180th year

Goa Postal Region has entered its 180th year. As part of this celebration , Goa Postal Region has ha introduced new facilities, namely preferential treatment for senior citizens, opening of three philatelic clubs, export through post system and release of special cover in October.



Postal facilities were made available in Goa on 18th February 1841  when Goa was under Portuguese rule. Under this move, post offices were  opened in Panaji, Mapusa, Margao, Ponda and Bicholim.
