Only traditional floats this year: Babu

This time government is giving direction to the Carnival parade floats. Only traditional, no commercial floats and especially no floats with politically controversial messages like CAA, Tourism Minister Babu Azgaonkar made it clear on Tuesday. Babu warned about that police action would be initiated against those floats that don't follow the rules.



The tourism minister said that Carnival committees have been formed to keep control on what  floats are allowed. Goa is celebrating Carnival from 22nd till 25th February. Official floats will take place in 7 cities - Panaji, Madgao, Mapusa, Vasco, Curchorem, Quepem and Morjim. The Tourism Minister said that 1.46 crore rupees had been released to these Carnival committee for prizes and infrastructure. Shalom Sardinha, son of South Goa MP, Francisco Sardinha is King Momo this year.
