Controversy cropped up two days before the Panaji Carnival. Traffic Police refused to permit Corporation of the City of Panaji to hold Carnival parade on Dayanand Bandodkar road. The issue was finally resolved after North Goa Collector gave his consent to conduct the float parade along the old route.

CCP had asked permission from traffic police to close this route for vehicles. However, the Traffic Police refused to grant permission.

Later, CCP approached the Collector and a meeting was convened by the Collector with Mayor Uday Madkaikar and DySP traffic Dharmesh Angle.

The Collector gave his consent to hold parade on this road and later, traffic police agreed to give permission the close the road.
