PM launches Ayushman health Bharat- National Health Protection Mission

Prime Minister Narendra Modi rolled out the Centre's flagship Ayushman Bharat-National Health Protection Mission from Jharkhand on Sunday.



The scheme, renamed as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyan  aims to provide a coverage of 5 lakh rupees per family annually.

It is supposed to benefit more than 10 crore poor families.

Ayushman Bharat-National Health Protection Mission is the world's largest government healthcare programme, it will be funded with 60 per cent contribution coming from the central government and the remaining from the states.

The scheme will provide cashless and paperless access to services for the beneficiary at the point of service.
