Mulgao Pethechi Jatra held

The famous Petyechi Jatra at Mulgao in Bicholim was celebrated with pomp and religious fervour depite the rising corona cases.



 Dhonds were seen dancing while taking procession of the peth.


This Petyechi Jatra in Mulgao is celebrated during the fortnight of auspicious Hindu Chaitra month.


Hundred of people took part in the celebrations even as state is under the shadow of coronavirus.


The faces of four gods Bramha, Vishnu, Mahesh and Gaumata Cow are kept in peth- a case decorated with flowers.


This peth of Kelbai godess is taken to Mayem via Mulago, Valshi, Bordem. The peth will be kept at Mayem for three days.


After Mhamaya Godess jatra is celebrated at Mayem the pet is bought back to Mulago through the forest route. Watch the celebrations.
