Waste dumped at factory catches fire, scares locals

Fear gripped residents of Maina - Navelim on Tuesday after the hazardous waste in a factory premises caught fire releasing flumes.

locals say that the dump fiber glass pipes caught fire. The fire department managed to extinguish the fire.

Locals say that the waste should be shifted out given that the factory has been closed for a long time as it could prove dangerous to them.
