Sudden rains create havoc in parts of Goa

Heavy rains accompanied by thunder, lightning and gusty winds wreaked havoc at various parts of Goa even as the monsoon was making its way out of the state on Wednesday evening. A lightening strike claimed a life of a woman at Barcem.



40-year-old women Puspha Velip died on the spot due after she was struck lightening. While,  she was busy in her kitchen garden. Another women accompanying her suffered minor injuries. Indian Meteorology department says the heavy rains occurred due to withdrawal of monsoon. 



People were seen struggling as they were welcomed by sudden heavy rains. Many trees fell. A pepal tree also came crashing down on two bikes opposite Navhind Bhavan in Panaji. 


 Ironically IMD says southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country.
