Speeding bus flips on its side at Borim, one serious

One passenger was serious and three suffered minor injuries.

Vegetable vendors who sit near this circle had a proverbial escape as they had left for lunch.

The bus was was going towards Margao from Mumbai. It was overspeeding and the driver lost control of the bus on a sharp turn causing the bus to fall on its side.

The bus driver fled from the spot, eyewitness said. Three were rescused but one person got stuck inside the bus. He was later rescued by fire fighters.

 The injured were shifted to Ponda Sub-District hospital. One two-wheeler and a car were also damaged in the incident. 

This is the fifth mishap at the Borim Bythokol circle. The vegetable vendors sitting near this circle had a lucky escape as they had gone for lunch.

Locals say the bus was overloaded and the carrier fell by the wayside.
