Mini storm creates havoc in Ponda

Ponda was hit by gusty winds and heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning on Friday evening. Initially, it started getting dark at around 3 in the evening before it started raining heavily.



 Then strong winds rocked the area pulling down trees, electricity poles including a transformer being uprooted from its moorings.  

The met department has predicted thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and heavy rainfall at isolated places over North and South Goa districts for both 28th and 29th of September.

Rough sea warning was issued that there is a possibility that sea will be rough near shore and also the low lying areas like Marmugoa, Panjim, Vasco da Gama could experience intermittently surges during high tide.
