Mini storm creates havoc in Ponda

Ponda was hit by gusty winds and heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning on Friday evening. Initially, it started getting dark at around 3 in the evening before it started raining heavily.

 Then strong winds rocked the area pulling down trees, electricity poles including a transformer being uprooted from its moorings.  

The met department has predicted thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and heavy rainfall at isolated places over North and South Goa districts for both 28^th and 29^th of September.

Rough sea warning was issued that there is a possibility that sea will be rough near shore and also the low lying areas like Marmugoa, Panjim, Vasco da Gama could experience intermittently surges during high tide.
