Four shops gutted in fire at Vasco

Four shops adjacent to each other opposite Vasco fish market were gutted in fire during wee hours of Tuesday.

After 2 hours of fire fighting operations the fire was doused.

Fire department has reported loss of 2 lakh rupees.

The tragedy happened at around 5.30 in the morning when eyewitness saw huge flames emerging from the shops.

He immediately alerted the Vasco Fire Brigade and also the shop owners.

Fire tenders were also called from MPT and Verna.

The shops gutted in fire included a pan shop, footwear shop, juice centre and a saloon.

Fire department is yet to ascertain cause of fire is not known but suspect short circuit.
