CM,dep CM visits flood affected areas; promises aid

Normal lives were disrupted in Goa due to heavy rains on Thursday. Thousands of people were displaced and hectares and hectares of agriculture after Goa witnessed its worst and most widespread floods in nearly four decades.



 Nearly a thousand houses were damaged, and at least two minor bridges were washed away. Many  roads were submerged, and so far, one woman was feared dead. Th edamages have been pegged at corssing 500 cr Rupees.

The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar and minister Govind Gaude visited affected areas. The Chief Minister assured them relief. Shelter and food was provided to flood affected victims of Davkon, Dharbandora, Bhamoi and Usgao.  

The ancient Safa Masjid at Bandora partly collapsed due to rains. Deputy Chief Minister and Arts and Culture Minister Govind Gaude visited the site and assured to solve the issues soon as possible. The management of Masjid also demanded flyover at the site.
