Bus catches fire at Bandora; loss worth Rs1.5 lakh

A bus owner suffered a loss of around one and half lakh rupees when the battery of the vehicle caught fire at Bandora due to short circuit.
The passengers had a lucky escape as they alighted quickly when they saw the smoke.
The fire spread quickly engulfing the passenger seats.
The engine was also damaged.
The incident took place at around two in the afternoon on Saturday.
There were four passengers in the bus when the incident took place but they quickly alighted.
The bus was proceeding from Ponda to Nagueshi and when it reached Parshuram Nagar in Bandora it caught fire.
