While Goa government officials are busy with election preparations, the Parvat or hillock at Paroda is on fire for the last four days.

Neither Fire Brigade nor any other concerned official have reached the site to control the fire. Even huge trees have been turned into ashes.

This is a huge hillock next to famous Chandreshwar Bhutnath Parvat of Paroda, adjacent to the Madgao-Quepem road. According to locals, the fire started on Monday and it has spread all over by Thursday, burning down a large number of trees.

It has now become very difficult to reach there. But the flames and smoke can be seen clearly from the road. Locals are surprised why neither fire brigade nor any local authority has taken note of this tragedy when everybody travelling on the road can see this.
