Foreign tourist arrivals to Goa is down by 20% this tourism season. This year did not look very promising and encouraging, this is claimed by the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa President Savio Messias. Savio said that rising incident of rape cases is another big reason for the drop in foreign tourists arrivals.

On Monday, TTAG President Savio Messais said that there is a decline in the foreign tourist arrivals in the state of Goa. He added that this could be due to a drop in charter flights in Goa, while foreign tourists arrivals are down, the percentage of room reservations is even lower. There have been rising incidents of rape cases being reported daily.  The countries like UK and US have issued advisory to travel into India and tourists are scared to travel because there is fear of rape and women attacks while traveling to India.
