Tourism stakeholders say this year's tourist season is not merry. Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal and Calangute MLA and Minister Michael Lobo have suggested ways to revive the tourism business. Piyush says doubling of railway tracks will bring more tourists while, Michael suggested to enhance security in Goa admitting criminal activities are on rise.

Goa 365 on Friday highlighted the present tourism scenario in the state.

Tourism stakeholders raised concern as their business has dipped.

Now, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal says doubling of railway tracks would pull more tourists to Goa.

Tourism stakeholders also told Goa 365 that rising criminal activities is the main reason why tourists do not visit Goa.

Calangute MLA Michael Lobo doesn't deny it. He has admitted tourists are falling prey to chain and bag snatching incidents.

He wants to increase police surveillance in the tourism belt in the north.
