The Government is planning on converting Grande Island into a tourist spot. This island is just off the Baina coast.

This was decided at a meeting held on Friday between local MLA Carlos Almeida, Goa Tourism Development Corporation chairman Nilesh Cabral and other government officials.

During the meeting held at the Mormugao Deputy Collector’s office in Vasco, issues faced by the tourist boat operators were also raised.

Cabral promised that he would write to the Caption of Ports to issue temporary permission to boat operators so that they can operate without any obstacles.
