Goans can drink on beaches, tourists can’t; but Goans can’t enter casinos

There is a new policy for tourists and Goans as far as tourism is concerned. A Goan cannot go on casino and gamble, only tourist can go. But on the beach, only Goan can drink liquor in open, but tourists can’t drink. Deputy chief minister Babu Azgaonkar has promised to mark picnic zones for Goans on the beaches where they can drink. But not the tourists.

Goan beaches are yet to see light of the day in terms of cleanliness, drowning and hawkers. Babu said he now completely focused on these issues. Babu said the fines has now been increased till 5000 rupees on hawkers along with arrest. Constables have been given powers to nab them and put behind the bars. Earlier, fines were so less which would encourage hawkers to disturb tourists back again.
