Goa Forward against ‘common’ tourists, GTDC says we can’t oppose them

Goa Forward is not in favour of common Indian tourists coming to Goa. They want to make Goa a costly destination so that only high-end Indian tourists come here.

But GTDC Chairman Nilesh Cabral says we can’t stop anybody.

Perhaps it was the strongest statement made by any sitting minister. TCP minister Vijai Sardessai says Goa needs to change its tourism policy towards attracting more high-end foreign tourists by making things expensive.

Disagreeing on the strategy of successive governments to increase tourist footfalls, Sardesai believes the state tourism department must focus on attracting quality tourists by providing better infrastructure.

So what are good quality tourists and how does one judge anyone’s quality entering Goa as a tourist?

Chairman of Goa Tourism Development Corporation, Nilesh Cabral says Goa as a state cannot deny their right to travel within the country.
