Charter flights into state drop, but domestic tourists up

Panchayat Minister and Dabolim MLA Mavin Godinho on Wednesday admitted that the number of charter flights have reduced substantially but domestic tourists have made up for the loss.



 Godinho was speaking at the sidelines of the commissioning  of new Departure entry gates and renovated washroom in the immigration area of the terminal building of the Goa Dabolim Airport. Tourism is the mainstay of the palm fringed state after the collapse of the mining industry.

AAI Director BCH Negi thanked all stake holders CISF, Customs , Immigration , Airlines and others  for helping them in modifications at the Airport.

He also added that It was a challenge to carry out the work in the functional terminal building and working simultaneously along with handling  passengers here.
