Rs.225 crore to be released by union government for National Games 2019, says SAG

The National games are happening in Goa in March next year.



More than 225 crore rupees will be released by the union government. 


The Games Technical Conduct Committee said that the Competition Directors' are satisfied with Goa's preparedness for National Games 2019.

Apart from the proposed multipurpose stadium at Campal-Panaji and Sawalwada-Pernem, most work is under control.


The government has assured them that the Campal and Sawalwada facilities will also be ready in time, GTCC chairman Mukesh Kumar told reporters on Thursday. 


Sports Authority of Goa executive director V M Prabhudesai said that all the aspects concerning the organisation of the prestigious national multi-sport extravaganza, are being looked into by forming 11 functional areas and bringing them under the ambit of the respective department of state government.


He also said that the Union government is close to releasing Rs 225 crore financial assistance for the Games.
