Many sportspersons test +ve for #covid19 as events begin

Many sports events across the world have resumed, albeit behind closed doors. Unfortunately, this has resulted in many sports personnel testing positive for Covid 19. These have been in such diverse fields as cricket, football, badminton, and wrestling to name a few.



Twelve members of the Chennai Super Kings contingent, including a pace bowler playing for India, have tested positive for Covid-19 as the practice sessions began in Dubai, reports say. 


 Ace wrestler Vinesh Phogat selected for a National Award had to be in quarantine after she tested positive for Covid-19 on the eve of the ceremony.


Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba also tested positive for Covid-19. The midfielder was part of the French squad, which will take on Sweden and Croatia in the UEFA Nations League on September 5 and 8. The midfielder will be replaced by teenager Eduardo Camavinga.




Set to be conferred the Arjuna award on Saturday, national badminton player 20-yr old Satwiksairaj Rankireddy has tested positive for Covid-19 and is in home quarantine for nearly a week.
