Valpoi police gear up expecting backlash after Wed clashes

Police were ready fearing the Melaulim villagers would come back to the Valpoi police station.

Bus loads of police were stationed in Valpoi.

Police filed FIRs against locals, opposition leaders and NGOs .

Congress marched to Goa Police Headquarters and submitted a memorandum to IGP Rajesh Kumar and briefed him about Melaulim incident.

They demanded that police to go through the video and act against the culprit.

Melaulim villagers along with social activist and politicians who were part of the agitation are being booked by the police.

Government is being criticised on all fronts due its action.
