They were displaced from Tillari so that whole North Goa gets water for drinking and irrigation.

And even after 20 years, at their rehabilitation site in Sal village, they are struggling for water.

The proposal of water tank is being shuttled between PWD and Water Resources Department. Both are offering to build a tank. But nobody is actually building it.

Tillari dam is a joint project of Goa and Maharashtra, due to which the settlers of

Tillari were shifted and rehabilitated in Sal village of Bicholim two decades ago. Almost 200 houses.

They were provided water by building a small Bandh, which is in a bad shape today while water is muddy.

Tap connections are given, but no water in the tap.

Local panch Devidas Naik says the proposal of tank is pending because WRD has not given NOC to PWD till date.

He is now hoping that the problem could be resolved if media takes initiative.

Because their long pending demand of a road was solved only after Goa365 exposed their pathetic state due to lack of a proper road.

After reporting this fact last week, Bicholim mamlatdar visited the site and assured to start road work soon after elections.
