Does not matter if the government is saying if there are no tigers in Goa. It has been proved there are tigers in Goa. And the government has failed to protect tigers and to convey to locals the importance of the tiger. If tigers are preserved than we will get water and oxygen.

Declare the areas which do not have human habitat a tiger reserve to save tigers, says environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar on World Tiger Day.   Since 1995 government is saying there are no tigers in Goa. But in 1997 it was proved that 5 tigers exist in Goa. However, the message was spread that these tigers are from Maharashtra and Karnataka. Even though there was evidence of tigers dwelling in Goa's wildlife sanctuary the government was just refusing to accept it. But then In the year 2013 tigers were captured by the trap cameras.

The government has showed its failure in safeguarding tigers after four tigers poisoned and killed. The struggle between people and tigers were seen as herbivorous animals are getting extinct in forest. If tigers are preserved than we'll get water and oxygen, Kerkar said.

Health Minister and Valpoi BJP MLA Vishwajeet Rane gave video message on the occasion of world tiger day.
