Corona: Mhalsa & Shantadurga temples shut down for devotees

After allowing Shigmo parades in most of the cities and also the famous Gulal of Zambaulim, Goa’s two main temples have taken a major step to control spread of Corona virus. Entry to Mardol and Kavlem temples has been restricted. Devotees have been told not to visit the temples, till 31st of March.

Shantadurga Temple of Kavlem and Mahalsa Temple of Mardol in Ponda are also prominent tourists destinations of Goa.

Both the temple managements have displayed notices to discourage tourists as well as other devotees entering temple premises.

Only the Bhat will perform the regular rituals.
