CORONA: Govt shuts down schools for students up to Std VIII, CM denies indoor meets

Finally it’s decided. Summer holidays have begun for all the students from Std First to Std Eighth. No exams. Because of the threat of spread of corona virus. But exams will be held for Std Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth. And CM has denied that he is holding indoor meetings for ZP election campaign.

Education department finally issued a circular on Tuesday.

It stated that the decision is being taken in view of the latest guidelines issued by central ministry of health.

The two-line circular stated that exams for classes up to Std Eighth stand cancelled. Exams from Std Ninth to Twelfth would be held as per schedule.

But the schools have to maintain distance of one meter between two students. And all the teachers have to attend the schools regularly.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant is caught up in a controversy for officially banning closed door meetings and personally addressing meeting for ZP election campaign.

He was confronted by media on Tuesday morning when he had come to pay tributes to Manohar Parrikar. And watch what he says.

After paying tributes, CM went to Salcete and held a meeting, which he calls open, in a temple hall at Davorlim.

He not only addressed a meeting but also had a photo session with them. It’s definitely not a shed like he described.
