Children complain of nausea after mid day meal at Mapusa school

Some 42 student of Janata High school Mapusa were admitted to Asilo Hospital, Mapusa after consuming their Mid Day Meal on Friday.



All students were later discharged Anand Chatim head master Janata School Mapusa told Goa 365. The students affected were from sixth and seventh classes.

The meals were supplied by Shri Ram Self-Help group from Colvale. Mid Day Meal is provided to about 1,65,000 students in the State.

Under this scheme, hot cooked food is given to children of all Government and Government-aided Primary and Upper Primary School and AIE centers. Normally food served is Sheera, Vegetable Pulao and Pao Bhaji.

The scheme had come under criticism after children had got affected. But after  the government had made it compulsory before the distribution of the meal it is to be first checked by the Head of the Institution, one of the teachers of the school and a PTA member.
