St Anthony’s relics venerated at Guirim

The holy relics of St. Anthony of Padua were displayed and venerated at Alverno Friary in Monte de Guirim on Friday.



The relics will continue to remain at this place till Saturday morning. Thousands of devotees thronged to the friary to venerate the relics. The relics consist of a piece of a small rib bone & petrified flesh of St Anthony.

 About  800 years have passed since saint Anthony died but people all over the world claim that they receive favors from the saint.

The relics have come from Padua in Italy.

Meanwhile , thorough traffic arrangements have been made for veneration at Navelim on 3rd and 4th of March.


The veneration of the relics of Saint Anthony of Padua will take place at Padre Pio chapel at Moddi in Navelim.


On 3rd  of March, public veneration will begin at 3 in the afternoon till 9pm.


On the 4th of March, venration will begin at 6.30 am and go on till 4.30 pm.


The devotees can come to the Padre Pio chapel from three sides. , Jakniband junction, Shantinagar junction and Renault showroom side.
