Nationalist Congress Party wants Mandre MLA Dayanand Sopte to resign as a legislator. The party says Sopte has failed to curb issues in his constituency.

MLA Dayanand Sopte had recently stated that prostitution is going on along the Mandrem shore and police have failed to their job to curb the problem.

Mandre MLA Dayanand Sopte termed NCP spokesperson Rajendra Satelkar as an agent of illegalities.

NCP has said if Sopte fails to apologise he should resign as an MLA.

Sopte, however, dismissed the allegations and said people have shown NCP its place in the last assembly election.
