Mission Salcette: CM kick starts Mission Salcette

Salcette has been a Congress bastion for a long time. Manohar Parrikar had managed to breach this by supporting and getting elected his MLAs known as the altar boys.

However, that experiment failed in the last elections after Parrikar was called to the Centre.

Now the new chief minister Pramod Sawant and Calangute MLA seem to realised the need to revive this.

This time the BJP had broken the Congress party and taken into its fold MLAs from Salcete.

However with elections just around two years away the BJP needs to ensure that its MLAs get elected from Salcete in case it hope to retain power.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is on two days visit in constituencies of Salcette to take stock of development works in South. He spoke on this issue during this visit. Watch.
