Corona fear grips ZP election

The Covid-19 scare has finally hit ZP elections. However, the ZP polls slated for 22nd March are on. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said he has directed the collector not to give permissions for public meetings. He has appealed to politicians not to have large meetings as a safety precaution.



Various political parties are campaigning in full swing ahead of ZP polls.


On Saturday, Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte and Goa Forward MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar has fielded their three candidates in their respective constituencies.


The have appealed people to give chance to independents instead of BJP or Congress in presence of mass gathering of supporters.


Former Tourism Minister Mickey Pacheco has came out in support of Congress for ZP elections.


He has backed Congress ZP candidates from Raia, Nuvem, Colva and Benaulim.
