Congress has welcomed the plan of MGP to have an alliance and fight the next Assembly election together. After getting dropped from the BJP-led coalition government, MGP is now planning to go back to its old ally – the Congress.

MGP’s sole MLA and leader Sudin Dhavalikar had said last week that Congress and MGP pre-poll alliance can win minimum of 26 seats in the next Assembly election.

Sudin was dropped from the present coalition government while his two colleagues Babu Azgaonkar and Deepak Pavaskar had merged their two third group into BJP.

Before this government, MGP was part of Congress government led by Digambar Kamat. GPCC President Girish Chodankar has welcomed Sudin’s decision to come back to the Congress.
