The Congress party demanded that the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar give up his chair, and appoint a new chief minister to run the state.

Parrikar could advise the chief minister as and when needed and rest till he regained his full health. It said that it would support the new chief minister.

The GPCC president Girish Chodankar said that what the chief minister was presently doing was administrative work which could be done by the chief secretary or any other secretary.

Girish said that he sympathized with the chief minister but they had to do their constitutional obligation given that in the past 3 months governance especially on the law and the order front had suffered badly.

The Congress also criticized the BJP on Casinos saying that the government and the casinos were hands in glove looking after their mutual interests.

The Congress also attacked the BJP led government calling it intolerant to dissent and shielding party leaders embroiled in various sticky situations.
