The leadership controversy is finally over. BJP national president Amit Shah on Sunday said that Manohar Parrikar will continue as chief minister of Goa.

However, there would be cabinet reshuffle and portfolio distribution shortly.

The Congress has reacted sharply to this.

The opposition alleges that Modi and Amit Shah are scared of Parrikar because he has all the information of Rafale deal scandal.

BJP President Amit Shah broke the news on Sunday evening through a tweet in Hindi.

The tweet said, “After discussion with the core team of the party in Goa, it has been decided that Manohar Parrikar will continue leading the state government.

However, there will be changes in several departments and the Cabinet of the state government soon,”.

The uncertainty in state politics has been going on since February after Parrikar is being treated for a pancreatic ailment that has still not been officially named by the government.

After frequent visits to USA for the treatment, Parrikar was then shifted to AIIMS in Delhi during Chovoth.

As Parrikar wished to step down, a 3 member team consisting of BJP general secretary  Ram Lal, Goa in charge Vinay Puranik and B L Santhosh came down to Goa to choose a new leader. Amit Shah had then meetings with core team members and MPs in Delhi while also consulting Parrikar. He has now declared his decision.

No change in leadership. Only cabinet and portfolio reshuffle.

The Congress had expressed fear that Parrikar may dissolve the Assembly. So they had staked their claim to form the government. GPCC President Girish Chodankar has now termed BJP’s decision as ‘arrogance’.

Girish also goes ahead and alleges that PM Modi and Amit Shah are scared of Parrikar, because he has all the details of the Rafale deal scam.
