There are two bombshells which have fallen together, but separately, on the Manohar Parrikar government.

One, from the alliance partner. Goa Forward leader Vijai Sardesai is speaking about withdrawing support to the government.

And second, from the Congress. It has challenged to convene the Assembly session and they will topple the government.

Goa Forward admitted Congress candidate in the last Assembly election, Santosh Gawas from Mayem, in the party fold.

Incidentally, Mayem is a BJP constituency and Goa Forward has brought in BJP MLA Pravin Zantye’s rival in their party.

While addressing people of Mayem, TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai said they may have to rethink on continuing with the coalition government if mining crisis is not resolved.

And even supporting the BJP in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.

In the Congress camp, there were two incidents on Thursday. Congress’s Jana Gana Man reached Madgao and there was a meeting held in the district town.

Former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat made a special mention of non-BJP parties coming together at the swearing-in ceremony of Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy.

And at a press conference again held in Madgao, Congress spokesperson Sidhnath Buyao threw an open challenge to the government to convene the Assembly session and they would topple Parrikar government.
