Controversy over Formalin has erupted once again. Because the Congress leaders claimed to have found Formalin in the fish in Madgao market.

As the news broke out, Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane convened an emergency press conference.

More than dealing with formalin issue, he went on attacking  Congress leaders and specifically its President Girish Chodankar.

He continues claiming that the fish brought from outside Goa does not contain Formalin.

The top Congress leaders including their observer Chellakumar went to the SGPDA market of Madgao on Saturday morning armed with 10 kits of checking formalin in the fish.

Along with him were five MLAs from the South and North as well as GPCC President Girish Chodankar and Mahila Congress president Pratima Coutinho.

As their kits showed the presence of Formalin in the fish, health minister Vishwajeet Rane convened a press conference along with FDA Director Jyoti Sardesai.

And he simply blasted the Congress leaders of destroying tourism and harassing fishermen.

Vishwajit also challenged all the former Congress CMs to have a debate on the Formalin issue. But he did not name anyone.

His father Pratapsingh Rane has been the longest-serving Congress CM for 17  long years.

Earlier in the day, the Congress leaders told the Saxttikar customers to check the fish they have bought with almost 10 kits they had brought.

They said around 50 to 60 customers came forward to check their fish.

And the Congress leaders said most of the fish showed presence of Formalin.
