Remo ‘reborn’, after social media ‘kills’ him!

Goans woke up on Monday morning with a shocking notification on their WhatsApp: Goa’s world famous pop singer Remo Fernandes dies of a heart attack.

The news kept on going viral while very few people wanted to confirm if it’s true. Finally, around 4 o’clock, Remo himself confirmed it on his Facebook account from Portugal, that he is very much alive. That too, in a typical Remo style.

This was a simple WhatsApp post that started circulating since Monday morning: Tribute to Remo Fernandes, he passed away early today morning. May his soul rest in peace.

Obviously, this created panic among Remo’s fans as well as the media. And some of Remo’s close friends also intimated Remo about this.

But Remo was fast asleep in Porto in Portugal as the time there is four and a half hours behind India time.

When Remo came to know that he is being killed by the social media, he put up a post at around 4 o’clock which was around 11.30 in the morning in Portugal. It was a typical Remo style post. It said: Remo Fernandes RIP: Rocking in Porto.

And this is the obituary Remo wrote for himself.

I have been offering myself condolences ever since I was first informed about my sad demise last evening. But something made me suspect it was a fake news. When I woke feeling reasonably hungry this morning, I decided I was right.

He then thanked everybody, those who asked him straight if he was alive and also those who asked: how are you? And at the end, Remo says:

No one gets out of here alive.

Yes, but we are happy that our Remo is alive.
