Vijai, CM spat in house over recovery of mining dues

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Goa Forward MLA Vijai Sardessai were involved in fiery debate on the quantum of recovery of mining dues. Vijai alleged that the government had failed to recover 35,000 crore rupees of dues from lease owners.

 However, Chief Minister refuted this, saying that this was not true as the Mines department had ordered that 16 crore be recovered.  

 Non-recovery of mining dues became a hotly debated topic day after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced the formation a mining corporation to take minig forward in the state.

Vijai alleged SIT formed tp lool in alleged mining illegalities was not effective and recoveries of dues was not happening. However, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant countered saying SIT has lodged 16 FIRs in this  regards and Directorate of Mines and Geology have been directed to recover 16 crore rupees and balance recovery was in progress.
