SC Mining ban: CAC recommends review petition

14 Mar 2018 08:21 PM

The 3 member cabinet advisory committee that met for the first time on Wednesday decided that it would recommend a review petition to be held on the Supreme Court order.

Sudin said that they would be getting the clearance from the Chief Minister on the review petition.

The Supreme Court order has ordered mines closed by 15th of March. This has created heartburn in mining areas as a lot of people are affected by this decision.

A committee was going to be formed headed by the local MLA to assess the losses in mining areas.

Banks will also be asked to go slow down. This is important given that mining is a sensitive topic and has a lot of traction in mining areas.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister office has confirmed that CM is in the US and is responding well to the treatment.

It also rubbishes recent rumours that he would come down to Mumbai anytime soon.
