Mining Corporation will be formed, dumps have to be auctioned: Michael

Pressure is mounting on government to restart mining activities in Goa. Now, Minister Michael Lobo says that that the Chief Minister has agreed for the corporation.



He alludes that the Corporation could be formed as early as the first week of January, giving an indications about the lack of confidence in the courts decision.


Michael also says that the government needs to auction the dumps as it needs money. 


Supreme Court had shut down all the mining activities in the State.


Recently, government filed a review petition for resumption of mining. Court will hear case in January.


Mauvin Godinho and Lobo and even the chief minsiter had earlier said if no positive response come from court they would go ahead with corporation, which was demanded by various activists and NGOs.
