Health Minister and BJP’s Valpoi MLA has expressed confidence that the Central and State governments will find ways to resume mining in Goa as soon as possible.

There is political discomfort over the existing mining ban but Vishwajit Rane says he has faith in Prime Minister to overcome the crisis.

Viswajit says Gadkari’s Goa visit on March 20th will yield a positive response.

The Goa BJP-Incharge is set to hold meetings with 3-member CAC, Urban Development Minister Francis D’Souza, PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar and TCP Minister Vijai Sardessai to find ways to resume mining.

Mining is a back bone of any state economy particularly where ot occurs. In order to protect the economy of Goa it is very important to resume at the earliest in a sustainable way. Sustainable ways are difficult to follow because of tough decisions to be taken to implement it. Goa state DMG is looking for directives to start the process of assessing Value of Mineral resources. And also to take advantage of situation to join the small lease togather to creat dumping space and surface run off management. In any case reallotment to same lease owner is not possible. Looking forward a strategy formation to fulfill the environmental and mineral conservation objectives. Officers like Mr Satish Puri Ex DG DGMS or Mr Ranjan Sahay can be appointed as chief advisor as he is about to retire CG IBM. They know the problems of Goa.
