Bardez, Bicholim, Sattari farmers allege they suffer because of illegal mining

They say their paddy fields have been destroyed as mining silt has washed in the fields.

Now, Federation of Rainbow Warriors has taken up the farmers' cause and helped them file a petition in the High Court

The farmers say neither the Mining department nor any other government department has taken up any pre-monsoon work.

As a result, their fields have been destroyed. They assert that they have not been paid any compensation for their loss.
