Bandekar retrench Shirgao mining workers

While there is no solution till date on restarting the mines, the mining companies continue retrenching the workers



Now Rajaram Bandekar mine of Shirgao has retrenched all the workers from 1st of December.

 The retrenched workers now sit on the gate of Shirgao mine and demonstrate. They are also running from pillar to post for their survival.

The company in the retrenchment notice says that it has paid them salaries for the last eight months, after mines were closed in March.

The workers met Mayem MLA Pravin Zantye as well as North Goa MP & union minister Shripad Naik. Both of them are asking for one month time.
