Ponda municipal council has urged the transport authorities to exclude Ponda city from making wearing of helmets compulsory for the two wheeler riders.

They also want traffic police to waive off challans people have received for traffic violations captured on traffic sentinel mobile app.

Ponda has become the first municipal council to officially oppose the effective usage of traffic sentinel mobile app to catch traffic violators red handed.

In a meeting held on Friday, the council officially resolved in this regard.

They will now write to Ponda Deputy Collector as well as transport authorities in this regard.
