Short-cut road from Kavalem to Ponda closed; Sudin threatens agitation

People of Kavalem in Ponda got furious on Friday when Ponda municipality suddenly closed the road interconnecting Ponda city via Khadpabandh. Local Madkai MLA Sudin Dhavlikar and Kavlem Sarpanch Rajesh Kavlekar have threatened agitation if the road is not opened in two days.

While locals along both the sides of the road have complained about frequent accidents taking place on this road, Sudin has alleged that municipality has allowed several encroachments on the land acquired by the PWD for this road.

He also asked how SGPDA could ignore this road while preparing Ponda Outline Development Plan.
