SGPDA to appoint committee to study proposed Kabrastan in Madgao

Locals of Shirvadem continue opposing proposed Kabrastan in Madgao. On Thursday, they met SGPDA Chairman Wilfred D’Sa with a proposal to consult experts before going ahead with the project. D’Sa has agreed to appoint a special committee to study the project.



Our Muslim brothers still can’t find a place for Kabrastan due to opposition from locals wherever they go. When the new land at Shirvadem was identified, locals claim it is ecologically sensitive area and it would affect the lives of locals. One of the local Xavier Fernandes says they are prepared to even approach the court on the issue. 

The  SGPDA in  the meanwhile has also stayed construction at Estate Farm of Vijai Sardesai at Davarne. United Goans Foundation had objected to this construction. Watch what SGPDA Chairman Wilfred D’Sa alias Babashan says.
