Truckers say that the present system of truck passing is very laborious and painful as well as time-consuming.

Now on Saturday, the Salcete Margao truck owners association have demanded that the government sort out this problem as soon as possible, as otherwise they would be forced to come out on the road in protest.

They have given a deadline of 22 of October to sort out the issue.

On Saturday Franky Gomes, President of Salcette Margao Truck Owners Association told media that they have to pay the fee for the passing of their vehicles at the collectorate building and then have to go to Arlem to complete the other formalities.

Gomes said that all formalities should ideally be done in one place. If not people have to run from one place to another to get work down.
