Govt takes a step back on Old Goa construction after protests

Looks like the government has been forced to bow down before the protesting villagers of Old Goa. The order has been issued to revoke the construction license to the ongoing construction at the heritage site in Old Goa, TCP Minister Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar said.

Babu said the permission to this construction was not given during his tenure.

The department has been already informed no permission should be given to such kind of constructions coming up in heritage sites. People were up in arms over the construction in heritage site.

Till date people have been adamant about their protest. They say they won’t budge till government listens to their demand.
