Colvale Jail officials hand in gloves with criminals, NGO, oppn

  They have    alleged that high profile officials are behind the the recent escape of an inmate at Colvale jail for pecuniary reasons.

 Rape convict Ramchandra Yellappa had escaped the Colvale Jail on Tuesday. He was arrested for raping a British national in 2018. Earlier, he had escaped from the clutches of police through Margao court's toilet window last year.

Such incidents are not new in Colvale jail. Earlier, there was incident of jail guard being arrested for smuggling drugs in prison, an undertrial escaping the prison and video of inmate threatening another prisoner. This NGO Bailancho Ekvott has brought out.

 Goa Forward also lashed out government over the escape of the rape convict from Colvale jail.
