Citizens service centre in Margao proving increasingly counterproductive

A Citizens Service Centre was set up in Margao to provide quick service to citizens. But the centre has turned out to be anything but efficient. There are inordinate delays as the server often goes out of line. Citizens complain that charges have gone up but efficiency has come down.

To cite an example, before the centre was set up, citizens used to get their form one and 14 within five minutes but now it takes hours. Senior citizens have suggested that cash payment be accepted as many of them  do not know how to use an ATM Card. The staff at the service centre often blame the net connection stating that the server is down.
